Series 8 is in the Books

That is a wrap on the 8th Series and Day Six of the National Retriever Championship.

The last bird was brought in at 4:12 pm.

We will bring you the Callbacks as soon as we get them!

34. NFC-AFC ROBBER'S STRAY BULLET, "Bullet," LM, Alan Pleasant

The last running dog for the Eighth Series.

Flyer - Bullet shot out on a direct lint to the flyer and got it.

Right -  His line to the bird was right until the last spit where he ran in towards the blind before snagging his bird.

Middle - Nice line through his water work. Got out on far shore line and turned left. Made a few loops and on his bird.




39. FC BEADLE'S TURBO NINA, "Nina," LF, Dave Rorem

Flyer - Nice line

Right - Excellent line to this bird. Angled the shore to get in the channel, over the spit and in the pool - Nice Job

Middle - Her line across the channel was wide right, as her line across the spit and the pool. She went straight across the old fall coming out at the far shore wide right. She hunted deep and right before closing in on the holding blind and the bird.

Pick Up - 38. FC WHITEWATER KLONDIKE FRANCHISE, "Ike," LM, Danny Farmer

Ike came to the line at 3:37 pm

Flyer - This was a live active duck and Tippy was quickly there.

Right - He was hugging the right shore as far as he could. Squared into the channel and crossed the blind and hugged the shore. Got over the spit and out to his bird.

Middle - picked up

12. FC-AFC FRESH SQUEEZED JUICE, "Juice," LM, Mark Medford

Flyer - Beautiful line and style going for the flyer

Right - He went down the bank and squared across the channel. He ran the spit towards the bird and with a huge leap into the pool he got his bird.

Middle - He got into the channel and across the spit. A took a huge leap into the pool then hitting the other two pieced of water on a perfect line. He made a left when he got out and a little off line but he got the bird clean.

8. FC I'M YOUR SEARCH ENGINE, "Google," LM, Alan Pleasant

Came to the line 3:13 pm

Flyer - Excitement radiated off of Google for this bird - Nice Job

Right - He took a long entry and swam the channel past the holding blind. He turned around working wrong side of the spit. He crossed to the far side and got his bird.

Middle - He got into the channel and over the spit and into the 2nd pool. He finished his swims on his line to the bird. Very Nice.

Conditions Update

The winds have increased through out the afternoon today. They have ranged from ESE to E causing it to be at the handler's face for a cross wind. The shadows have began to extend through the area of the retired guns. Both could be factors affecting the routes the dogs area taking to the marks.

6. FC-AFC COOL FUEL MH, "Nitro," LM, Rich Pingatore

Flyer - Nitro went down to the bank and across the channel. He went over the spit and straight to his bird.

Right - He went way down the shore line staying right then entered the channel. He crossed the spit before the blind. He entered the second pool and got his bird.

Middle - He crossed the channel and over the spit behind the guns. He than ran the land and squared off the point with all things pulling him left. Nitro got way deep, he circled back and got his bird.

5. FC-AFC ATLASTASTAR, "Rinny," LF, Scott Harp

Rinny came to the line at 2:47 pm

Flyer - Rinny ran down the bank and swam across the channel to the point and to her bird.

Right - She ran the bank half way down the shore to the holding blind then angled into the channel. She had her swim then went out and over the spit then to her bird.

Middle - Rinny had a great line towards the bird down the bank. She angled into the channel than swam the second piece of water to the far side. She got out and around the blind. Went left and right of the blind before she found it.

22. FC TRUMARC'S GRATUITY, "Tippy," LF, Danny Farmer

Flyer - Good line through the water to the bird.

Right - Tippy had a long run down the bank with a swim across the channel. She than ran the spit to the blind. Had a hard left out into the water to the bird.

Middle - She took the same line as the right retired but swam through the pool to the end. She ran the area behind the blind and got the bird when she got on the right side of the blind.

1. FC-AFC BAYPOINT'S WESTMINSTER ABBEY, "Abbey," LF, Kenny Trott

Flyer - Good line to the bird.

Right - Abbey hit the channel half way to the blind and swam across then ran half to the blind. She took a huge leap into the pool and had her bird.

Middle - She took the same line as the right retired bird. She swam to the far right side of the second piece of the water. Got out hunting behind the blind and worked her way to the bird.

102. FC BLUENORTH'S GRAVITY STORM, "Kaidee," LF, Ray Voigt

Flyer - She quickly went out and straight to the bird.

Right - She angled down the shore half way to the blind. Swam across the channel and took four or five steps on the spit and jumped in the pool of water to his bird.

Middle - Kaidee took a huge leap into the channel over the spit and into the pool of water. She swam straight to the far shore on the right then turned left and hunted her way to her bird.

103. FC SUGAR MILL'S HIWOOD CAPROCK, "Rock," LM, Dave Rorem

Flyer - Nice Job

Right - A good line to the second piece of water and to his mark

Middle - Rock had a good line into the channel. He came out behind the guns and got into the next piece of water and swam to the far shore. He got out and hunted is way to the bird.

81. FC MAGIC TRICK'S ZUMA, "Zuma," LM, Greg Bartlett

Flyer - Nice Job

Middle - Zuma angled down the shore and entered the channel and spit to holding right retired blind. He missed his bird and went to the long blind and got his bird.

Right - Nice line down the shore. When he got in the water he was undecided and swam on the a big circle down by the blind. Worked it out and got his bird.

80. FC-AFC CANDLEWOODS TEQUILA EXPRESS, "Patron," LM, Mark Medford

Came to the line at 1:42 pm

Flyer - Snagged his bird in one smooth move.

Right - Patron was way down the shore heading straight for the blind.  He swam a good angle to the blind then hunted the spit before jumping in and retrieving his bird.

Middle - He angled into the channel and over point. He then had a huge entry into the pool. Finished his swim and went out the far shore and ran to the area to dig out his bird.

77. FC-AFC B. BUMBLE, "Stinger," LM, Ray Voigt

Flyer - Huge water entry twice for the flyer

Middle - Stinger had an angle entry into the 2nd pool that had him wide left for the right retired and wide right of the middle retired. He split the difference and went all the way to the far shore in the middle. He then turned left towards the holding blind. He worked post the bird and out to his bird.

Right - He went into channel swimming at a right angle. He went up and over the spit into the pool and to his bird.

Gun Change

We had a gun change at 1:20 pm. We will be back to the action in no time.

75. FC-AFC MCKINLEY FIRST ASCENDER-HUDSON, "Hudson," LM, Wayne Curtis

Flyer - Straight to the bird.

Right - He angled down this shore to the point then entered the channel swimming on an angle to the blind. He got out and over the spit in front of the blind and to his bird.

Middle - Hudson had a great line leaving the mat and crossing all water and stepping on his bird.
