5th Series

The Fifth Series is a Land Quad with a Walkout and Two Retired. The wind is light and out of the north. Heavy dew is covering the area with pockets of fog giving way to the sun. The land is a tree-lined field with mounds around the perimeter. There is a depression in the middle of the field with a road running across extending from the left of the line to the right of the outer gun station.

The first bird down is the Middle Retired, a dead hen pheasant thrown angle right at 298 yards. The second bird is the Right Retired Gun located to the right of the first station. This station throws a dead hen pheasant angle back to the left at 275 yards. The third station is a Flyer hen pheasant shot to the left out of order at 198 yards. The last station is a Walkout Simulated Flyer. The three gunners walk out from behind a mound that lies left of the line and then they throw and shoot a rooster pheasant into a depression at a tantalizing 107 yards. The two right gun stations retire when the dog is sent. The test is taking between 10-15 minutes per dog depending on whether the handler has to handle the dog.
